| GM's next generation Chevrolet Impala will remain FWD-based
When ever you want the biggest change, you don't go after the smallest items. The end result.......the top25 offenders probably won't be sports cars. They'll be Trucks and SUV's.The end of the big V8 dead? So far from the truth. There are advantages to forced induction (turbocharing and supercharging) but issues as well. There is an old addage, "there's no replacement for displacement". So true. NA engines will deliver signifigantly more torque than their equal powered turbo'd counterparts. Torque is what gives acceleration response, which consumers have become accustomed to.Now for those horrible American engines:For example:2008 Mitsu Evo X:2.0L 4cyl Turbo 320hp16city/22highway2008 Corvette6.2L 8cyl 436hp18city/28highwayAnd now for that same engine in a much heavier car:2008 Cadallac CTS-V6.2L 8cyl 430hp17city/25highway (2007 models were 15/24)Which would you rather have? Less power in a small turbo engine, with poorer fuel economy, or more power in a more fuel efficient engine.
Get sett to cross the Brock Burn for a field of retail dreams
NEVER IN my wildest dreams as a boy in Househillwood did I imagine that a gorgeous blonde such as Kelly Cooper Barr would invite me over the Brock Burn for an evening of champagne and canapés. I should explain. Kelly Cooper Barr is an It girl, not as in computer support but as in fashion guru, lifestyle model, and organiser extraordinaire of parties. Kelly was in charge of the opening soirée for Silverburn, the hugest and latest shopping experience in Glasgow. Silverburn is located just across the Brock Burn, where I was born and brought up. It occupies what was once a large area of football pitches and wild, recreational green grun. It was my childhood field of dreams. .
Sa Police Raid Zimbabweans' Shelter
We thought we were safe,'' said Fredrick Chibungu, who has been in the country for seven months and is waiting for his asylum papers to be finalized. ``They are going to deport us. There is nothing we can do. It is better to go back home and make a plan to come back,'' he said. Police eventually allowed about 100 women whose documents had been found in order back inside the church, where they were looking after a number of children. As the raid concluded about 2:30 a.m., police also allowed several hundred men with proper documentation to return to the building. They immediately began searching for their belongings while members of church began tidying up - blankets and bedding lay abandoned on floor where those seeking refuge sleep crowded next to one another. Verryn, a veteran of the anti-apartheid struggle, said it was the first such incident in the four years since he opened the church's doors after seeing increasing number of Zimbabweans on the streets of Johannesburg.
